The battle was fought on 18 June 1576. Maharana Pratap led the army of Mewar, while the Mughal army was led by Man Singh. Maharana Pratap fought bravely and attacked Man Singh’s elephant. His loyal horse Chetak also showed great courage during the battle.
Although the Mughal army was larger and better equipped, Maharana Pratap and his soldiers fought fearlessly. Due to lack of resources, Maharana Pratap had to retreat from the battlefield.
Chetak was the loyal horse of Maharana Pratap. He played an important role in saving Maharana Pratap’s life. Even after being seriously injured, Chetak carried Maharana Pratap to a safe place before sacrificing his life.
